Meritious students will receive the Institute Silver Medal, the President's Gold Medal, the Director's Gold Medal, Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma's Gold Medal (awarded in honour of the former president of India), the Perfect Ten Gold Medal, and the President's Gold Medal.
Today is the 54th convocation event at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D), where almost 2,350 graduating students will get their degrees.
Rangan Banerjee, director of IIT-Delhi, announced in a press conference that students from the MTech in Electric Mobility, Interdisciplinary MTech in Cyber Security, Masters in Public Policy, Master of Science in Research (MSR) in Materials Science and Engineering, and Joint PhD programme with the University of Queensland, Australia, will be awarded their degrees during this ceremony.
Additionally, deserving students will receive the Institute Silver Medal, the President's Gold Medal, the Director's Gold Medal, Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma's Gold Medal (awarded in honour of the former president of India), the Perfect Ten Gold Medal, and the President's Gold Medal.
The renowned alumni awards will also be given to its esteemed graduates, Banerjee said.
The main guest for the convocation will be Dr Gagandeep Kang, a virologist and professor of microbiology at Christian Medical College, Vellore.
Ashutosh Sabharwal (Professor at Rich University in Houston), Pawan Kumar Jain (MD at INOX Air Products), Nalin Shinghal (CMD at BHEL), Aarti Gupta (Professor at Princeton University), and Gurtej S. Sandhu (Senior Fellow and VP at Micron Technology) are the recipients of the distinguished alumni award.
Aayush Jain, an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and Ananth Govind Rajan, an assistant professor at IISc Bengaluru, have been selected as the alumni for the "Graduates of Last Decade" (GOLD) award.
