Subodh Kumar Singh appointed as DG NTA

 

Singh is currently an additional secretary at the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution's Department of Food and Public Distribution.

Subodh Kumar Singh, a senior IAS officer, has been named as the director general of the National Testing Agency as part of the Centre's bureaucratic restructuring.


Singh (1997 batch), an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre who is currently additional secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, has been named director general of the NTA, according to the announcement.


According to the order issued late Sunday night, Richa Sharma, additional secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, has been transferred to the Department of Food and Public Distribution to replace Singh.


According to the order, senior bureaucrat Sanjeev Kumar Chadha will be appointed as additional secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Vumlunmang Vualnam as additional secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, and Ramesh Krishnamurthi as additional secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment.


Meanwhile, Vipin Kumar, who is joint secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy, has been elevated to additional secretary.


Sunil Kumar Barnwal, who is now joint secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, will become an additional secretary in the Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education.
